Lypsyl Lip Balm (original mint version)- new look

• best night time lip balm. This is what I use everyday before I go to sleep and wake up with nice soft moisturized lip.
• Colorless. Not waxy or like petroleum jelly. Goes on smoothly.
• Moisturizing Level: 8 out of 10

EOS Lip Balm Sphere-lemon drop

• lemon drop one is the best out of all the flavors
• has SPF
• colorless
• has a thicker more "goopier" consistency that I find is ultra moisturizing and protective.
• nice lemony scent
• Moisturizing Level 8 out of 10. In my original post I said it was 6 out of 10 but probably because I had it for so long now, it has a melty texture which is goopier and I feel is more moisturizing than before when it's texture was harder and less easy to spread.

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm-hibiscus-rosy reddish color

• natural sheer tinted color 
• does not highlight dry flakes as much as other tinted lip balm
• feels like it is sinking into my lips and renewing my lips
• Moisturizing Level: 7 out of 10

EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Sphere-coconut milk

• colorless
• texture is soft compared to original EOS but less thick than lemon drop.
• feels like it is over-drenching my lips but I get the feeling that it doesn't absorb-like it's just lying on top of my lips
• Moisturizing Level 6 out of 10

EOS Lip Balm Sphere- all other flavors except for lemon drop

• colorless
• harder texture compared to lemon drop so less likely to spread
• lightweight and give a tiny bit of moisture-perfect for the summer
• Moisture Level-5 out of 10. 

Maybelline Color Whisper Color Sensation Lipstick-Cherry on Top-Bright Pinky Red color

It's a lipstick but I think of it as a lip balm because it doesn't have this smell that lipstick has for example, Revlon Lip Butters.

• medium color that can be builded
• highlight any roughness and flakes.
• I love this lip product as a lip color-love, love, love. However, you can not use this as a lip balm. It provides absolutely no moisture. Even in the summer, it does not provide enough moisture for my lips and I need to layer it with a lip balm. But I love the color of this and because I'm lazy and  don't like to layer it over a lip balm, I only use it for the summer.

Lypsyl lip balm *new look* best overall lip balm

Hello readers!!!

Its currently in the middle of winter and my lips have become chapped and dry like sand paper. No matter how much water I drink, my lips still feel dry-the only thing that relieves the dryness is ….. lip balm.

I had done a more in-depth review of lypsyl lip balm here.
So when I went to pick up the lip balm at my local drug store I realized that something looked different.

Lypsyl had updated their look and added a new flavor- vanilla plum. They called their original one original mint. Although I am not a major fan of vanilla i purchased it in case I wanted to try it out later.

So they updated their look but I wouldn't say it looks more appealing compared to their original look and I felt that their original container seems more sturdy than the new one. Not that the new one is flimsy, just that the plastic seems harder and sturdier.

So they claimed that they haven't changed their formula and the original mint had the same formula but for some reason I felt it was different. My sister felt the same way too so it's not just me. I can't pinpoint what the difference is but it seems to be a bit less moisturizing. Nonetheless I still highly recommend Lypsyl as I still go back to it every night at bedtime. It feels natural. I like that it actually penetrates into my lips and not just sits on top of my lips.

Moisture level I would still say an 8 out of 10.  It's moisturizing but it not too heavy or to light. The only difference from vanilla plum and original mint is vanilla plum contains spf 15 and the flavor. As I said, I only use it at bedtime so I don't care if it has spf or not. For day I usually have on lip gloss or a different tinted lip balm.

Also I realized that the old packaging has an expiration date on the tube however on the new tube, the expiration date cannot be found.

The company seemed to have added new tag line "bee smooth" which I feel is trying to compete against *cough cough* eos lip balm's claim of smooth. Frankly I think Lypsyl wins hands down in terms of moisture level and smoothness. In fact it is way smoother than Eos lip balm. Lypsyl was launched before EOS was launched and when I tried  EOS, I always thought it was funny for it to market itself as smooth when there were other products in the market that was even smoother.

Anyhow,  if you are looking for  a lip balm for winter chapped lips, I would say give Lypsyl a try. I have repeatedly come back to using this every night and it works. For me this is my number one lip balm and is  a must buy.

I do want to mention it has menthol mint feeling so if you don't like that icy feeling original mint would not be for you. However even though I don't like minty feeling, the strong mint that I get from Lypsyl doesn't bother me as much as lip gloss from maybelline volume seduction. I think that lip gloss numbed my lips.

My lip balm collection!!! first off Lypsyl lip balm

Hello everybody. Haven't posted in while due to the immense load of school work for the past few years. I am delighted to tell everybody I am back for now since I am on summer break.

I just want to show you the lip balm collection I have collected over the years

I wanted to review all of these in one long post but I feel it would be way too long. So I have decided to break them up into parts.

The first one I will be reviewing is the Lypsyl lip balm.

It's a lip balm I have had for a while so pardon its appearance as the label is already starting to fade.

I really like this. Its very very rich and  moisturizing. It glides on smoothly. I noticed that EOS markets it lip balm as being smooth. I would say this Lypsyl is twice as smooth.  It is colorless and it doesn't contain any SPF.

 I use it at night in the winter before I go to bed and wake up with soft pillowy lips. There is a tiny tingle to it-but not so much that it burns your lips- and it soon dissipates. Out of a 10pt scale for moisture I would say it's an 8.

I have already used so much that it it flat against the sides. Need a new one but I am postponing until winter.

As you can see it is a pretty fat oval tube. Compared to all my other lip balms it looks gigantic but I used up this tube faster than any of my other lip balms.

On the side where you see the tan colored bug is where you push up the lip balm. There was never a problem pushing it up and down and I actually prefer this way dispensing it.

This is my most favorite lip balm out of the bunch i own.

 I think I bought it for ~$2-3 at CVS. I would definitely recommend this. Although if you are using it during the day keep in mind it doesn't contain any SPF.
